What you’ll need
Gather the following materials:
  • White Knight Squirts
  • Screwdriver
  • Sugar Soap
  • Clean Cloths
  • Sandpaper
  • Drop Sheet/Newspaper
  • Tack Cloth
  • Painter's Tape (optional)

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Upcycle a Chest of Drawers

Start by removing any handles or knobs using a screwdriver. This allows you to paint the drawers evenly. Then wipe down the drawers with a cleaner or sugar soap to remove dirt, grease and residue. Proper cleaning helps spray paint adhere to the furniture.

1Remove Handles

Lightly sand the entire surface of the drawers. Sanding creates a slightly rough surface that helps the paint grip and improves the final finish. Use a clean cloth or dust brush to remove all sanding dust before painting.

2Sand Furniture & Remove Dust

Shake the can of White Knight Squirts well and apply a smooth, even base coat using steady sweeping motions. Hold the can around 20–25 cm from the surface for best results. Allow the first coat to dry before applying a second coat to create a more even, professional-looking finish.

3Apply Two Coats of Spray Paint
