How to Apply
- For best results, use the recommended White Knight products and follow the step-by-step guide below.
Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and contaminants
Remove all loose rust, flaking paint and surface defects
Sand smooth or glossy surfaces to promote adhesion
Protect surrounding areas from overspray
Test on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility.
Shake can thoroughly for at least 1 minute after ball begins to rattle and during use
Hold can approximately 15–20cm from surface
Spray in smooth, even sweeping motions
Apply a light mist coat first, followed by 1–2 full coats as required
Allow flash off between coats to avoid runs
Avoid heavy application which may cause sagging.
Once the primer is fully dry, the next step is to apply a Rust Guard topcoat to provide colour, durability and long term protection.
For a durable coloured finish, apply White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel (best for maximum durability and exterior exposure) or Rust Guard Quick Dry Advanced Enamel (ideal for faster project turnaround)
For a galvanised or metallic silver finish, apply Rust Guard Cold Gal Silver
For high wear areas or harsh conditions, choose Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel for added toughness and abrasion resistance
Coverage: approximately 1.5m² per can, depending on surface and application
Touch dry: 10 minutes
Recoat: after 1 hour
