White Knight® Strokes can be used on suitably prepared timber, metal, ceramics, fibreglass and glass.

1. PREPARATION

GLOSSY SURFACES / PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES WITH OIL BASED PAINT:

  • Thoroughly clean the surface and ensure it is free from grease, oil, dirt, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • Sanded with #240 grade abrasive paper.
  • Remove all loose, peeling, flaking or chalky paint.
  • Fill nail holes and cracks with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
  • Spot prime bare patches with appropriate high quality primer.

NEW EXTERIOR TIMBER:

  • Sand smooth to remove raised timber grain.
  • Apply one coat of White Knight Strokes Wood Primer and then one coat of Strokes Oil Based Undercoat, allowing adequate drying between coats.

NEW INTERIOR TIMBER:

  • Sand smooth to remove raised timber grain.
  • Apply one coat of White Knight Strokes Oil Based Undercoat.

STEEL AND WROUGHT IRON:

  • Thoroughly clean the surface and ensure it is free from grease, oil, dirt, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • Sand new metal, previously painted and glossy surfaces thoroughly.
  • Remove all rust and flaking paint with a wire brush, scraper or mechanical sander back to bare metal.
  • Prime with White Knight Rust Guard® Metal Primer, followed by one coat of White Knight Strokes Undercoat, allowing adequate drying between coats.

NEW GALVANISED IRON AND NON FERROUS METAL:

  • Thoroughly clean the surface and ensure it is free from grease, oil, dirt, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • Apply one coat of White Knight Rust Guard® SLS Etch Primer or White Knight Rust Guard® True Bite; then apply White Knight Strokes All Purpose Oil Based Undercoat.

GALVANISED IRON AND NON FERROUS METAL:

  • Thoroughly clean the surface and ensure it is free from grease, oil, dirt, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • Sand new metal, previously painted or glossy surfaces thoroughly.
  • Remove all rust and flaking paint with a wire brush, scraper or mechanical sander back to bare metal.
  • Apply one coat of White Knight Rust Guard® SLS Etch Primer or White Knight Rust Guard® True Bite followed by one coat of White Knight Strokes Undercoat, allowing adequate drying between coats.

2. APPLICATION

  • Stir thoroughly with a broad, flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use and continue to stir at regular intervals during application.
  • Apply two coats by brush or roller. Lightly sand with #400 grade abrasive paper between coats.

3. COVERAGE

Approximately 16m² per litre, depending on the nature of the surface.

4. DRYING

Touch dry in 4 - 6 hours. Recoat after 16 hours. Drying will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied.

5. CLEAN UP

Clean equipment and brushes with White Knight Rust Guard® Solvent or mineral turps immediately after use.

6. SAFETY & FIRST AID

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

  • If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or label. Do not induce vomiting.
  • If in eyes, immediately flush with running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Avoid breathing vapour or mist.
  • Use only with adequate ventilation.
  • If on skin, remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Do not use solvents or thinners.
  • Warning - Misuse by concentrating and inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal.

7. CAUTION

EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. KEEP AWAY FROM FLAME AND HEAT AND ELIMINATE ANY SOURCE OF IGNITION. Keep in a cool place and out of sun. Contents under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate this can, even when empty.

8. ENVIRONMENT

  • Residual paint should be sprayed onto newspaper, allowed to dry and disposed of via domestic waste collections.
  • Empty aerosol cans are recyclable via steel can recycling programs.
  • Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
